When I first started playing Everquest 2 I had one goal in mind, and that was to be a high leveled carpenter so I could furnish houses/apartments. Currently I am #36 server wide, not bad if I say so myself.
As I gained a few levels and started hunting in Antonica I learned of a great robe for end game very light armorer wearers. I did alittle researching of the robe and came to the conclusion that although it is an extremely rare robe I wanted it and reguardless of what it took I was going to get it.
The levels went by and I continued to research the robe finding out everything I could on it and how to get it. About a month ago I gained access to the zone that started the quest "Stitched in Time", which rewards the Robe of the Invoker once completed. There is two ways you can get this quest... By camping a tree for a rare rock spawn that contains the quest or by a rare chest drop of the quest. Okay, after researching I learned that the average for this rock spawn is anywhere from 3-10 days and spawns a few hours after the last time it spawns. It would've been difficult to camp it but I was willing to do it..
The other night while listening to the guys on teamspeak my heart beat raced while my stomach went down to my toes as Vin made the comment him and Selket had the quest in a chest and he was rolling for it. I am sure he heard my hysterical noices when I heard this. He ended up winning the lotto and getting the quest. I pretty much told him then I'd kiss his arse from here until eternity if I could get the robe from him.. He told me the next day the robe was mine as soon as he completed the quest.
Well, yesturday we completed the quest and he was completely shocked at how awesome this robe was. I explained to him he could keep it if he was going to wear it and use it but he insisted on giving it to me. Having the robe and wearing it is a big honor for me. To me it's not just an uber robe with awesome stats but a symbol of how wonderful Kort is and how we work together to complete one another.
I really don't think Vin realizes how much the robe ment to me after wanting it for so long, but it means a whole lot more to me now that is came from him.
From the bottom of my heart I want to say thank you Vin for not only helping me complete one of my goals but for picking me up and my ways of thinking after the past few weeks. I am sure you know what I'm speaking about so I'll save the details but thank you bro, you are awesome!
