LOL, you just had to ask didn't you...

Well, personally I don't think there should be a change in the way a guild loses guild status/xp when a patron decides to leave the guild... Why do I think this??

Because patrons to me are the same as knights/officers in a way. You wouldn't have just anybody helping to run a guild but instead have officers who you can trust and who you know would do a good job.
The same with patrons, you shouldn't have just anyone be a patron only those you know will stick around and those you know will follow through with the commitment they have made.

For example: If someone places another person as a patron just because he/she is helping them complete a heritage or two and the new patroned person decides to leave a few weeks later I think the guild should lose the status/xp because they placed the person as a patron for completely the wrong reasons.

I also believe that as things are now in game that if a patron leaves and the guild loses xp/status that it is a learning experience to pick and choose patrons more wisely. If the changes that are on test do go live there isn't really a way to learn and to grow if a patron leaves.

* I could go on and on about my thoughts and the way I feel on how currently things are and what may be changed but I think it would be best if I close my mouth before I insert my foot

I'll reserve my full opinion until more information is known. Off the top I don't like it; there should be some type of penalty.

I agree Paddi, as it is I don't like it but if they implement a penalty for those that do leave the guild I wish they would do it. I hate seeing the guild level go down and wish it did stay but some reprecussions should be made to them upon leaving such as for every 1000 status made a level of debt is gained upon leaving or even their personal status completely gone.

Quote:
Update Notes: July 18, 2005 7/18/2005 10:00 PM PST
*** Zone Access and Travel Changes ***

-There are no longer level restrictions or quest requirements on the following zones: Fallen Gate, the Orcish Wastes, the Enchanted Lands, Drafling Tower, the Feerrott, Everfrost, and Lavastorm.
- The access quests that were restricting travel to the Orcish Wastes, the Enchanted Lands, the Feerrott, Everfrost, and Lavastorm are now optional and provide item rewards. After you complete any of these quests (or if you have done so in the past), speak to Scholar Milnik on the docks of the Thundering Steppes to receive your reward. All boat rides associated with the overland access quests are now instanced adventures that can be repeated once you have completed the quests.
- Harbormasters in East Freeport and Qeynos Harbor now only sell tickets to the Thundering Steppes and Nektulos Forest. These two locations now function as travel hubs to the rest of the world. From the Thundering Steppes you can travel to the Orcish Wastes, the Feerrott, and Everfrost. From Nektulos Forest you can travel to the Enchanted Lands and Lavastorm.
- As Kizdean Gix's key is no longer needed to enter Fallen Gate, he has retreated from the Commonlands.

*** Epic Encounters ***

- Varanak the Everlasting will no longer immediately attack those who revive in the zone after being defeated by him. In addition, the statue has once again been reminded that his duty is to aid Venekor.

*** Items ***

- Status loot can now be sold to regular merchants for an appropriate price.

*** Tradeskills ***

- Each stage of the "Seeking a Profession" quest will now award a different volume of the Artisan Essentials series. The amount of cash awarded has been increased slightly, and citizenship should now be properly granted upon completion of the final quest.
