On April 7th all the people from Brell Serilis server will be moved to Cazic-Thule and there will be no more Brell Serilis. Since both servers have about half as many people as a year ago, the combined population should be just about like it used to be.
I've done some research on what we can expect. The highest guilds on Brell Serilis (in Time and beyond) are Silent Redemption, Watchers, Alarius, and Sojourners. These compare to The Relentless, Stone Coven, Cohort Chalybeius, Obsidian Coven, Shadowed Soul, and Black Talons on our server. Brell Serilis also has several guilds in elementals, such as Misericordia, Circle of Power, Mythic Voyagers, and possibly Veteran Crew -- these would compare to CHP (basically Praxium/Hand of Chaos), Illusion of Apathy, Veredi Arcanum, Exhumed, and Vlos d'Veldrin/Hellfire Club.
Brell Serilis has almost the same population as us. My first impression is that *some* bazaar prices are higher on Brell, with generally less tradeskill competition. I noticed Brell has an active Troll tradeskiller but few active High Elf tradeskillers, so that should work out nicely for me.
Brell Serilis also had a group of small allied guilds who raided together in Velious/Luclin/PoP. That group stopped raiding near the end of last year and some of those guilds closed as people moved to EQ2 and World of Warcraft. Sounds familiar, doesn't it? Only two of those guilds remain strong and kicking: Knights of Freedom and Clan Exemplar.
Knights of Freedom has a very nice website, and their philosophy, organization, code, and charter are very much like ours. But they allow all classes, even rogues and shadowknights, and they raid a lot. They've been fighting mostly in Vex Thal since their alliance broke up, and will probably start getting flags for elemental planes soon. I definitely am interested in getting to know them. I recommend you visit their website at
www.eqknights.com.
Clan Exemplar calls itself a family guild, but actually they raid a lot. They seem to have some open raids, meaning anyone is welcome to come on the raid, not just guild members. I haven't heard of other guilds that still do this, although Circle of Power apparently used to. Their website is
www.clanexemplar.net.
The brell message board is at
www.brellrants.net. Cazic used to have a message board at
www.cazic-thule.net but it hasn't really been used for years.
