As I'm in the process of tradeskilling (on my 30ish chair) the conversation I had with Murt last night came to mind. He was struggling to make a pristine sword, and like we all do while tradeskilling was becoming frusterated. I had asked him which of his tradeskilling counters/icons was his durability and he had responded weaponsmiths didn't have one. This took me by surprise, I thought anyone over the level of tier 1 had one. I decided in that instant I was pretty lucky. My odds of a pristine are 99.9% of the time, the only time I really don't get a pristine is when I jump up to answer the phone ect while in the middle of something... As I'm tradeskilling this morning I started complaining to myself that it takes me forever to make a completed creation. I am thinking it may be because I do have a durability counter/icon that allows me to "save" a pristine so I am basically fighting to keep everything perfect so that I can make a pristine... My question is whether or not you have a durability icon/counter and if it takes you forever to make a final product ( not including the time it takes to make the subs just the time it takes to hit the start button when all subs are combined until the item is made)... Another question thats been on my mind is whether or not you get more xp for making a pristine as you would a regular or a shaped. I do know you get a bonus when you make your first pristine but does it stop there? Thank you for your answers ahead of time I appreciate it
I can't be positive, being where I am at the moment, but I could swear the Tier 2 Weaponsmith buffs are for Durability. Tier 2 and 4 reactions/buffs are all s'posed to be for Durability. I'll check my Outfitters later.
As for it taking forever, don't use the Tier 2 and 4 [Durability] buffs the whole time yer crafting. If your first few rounds you manage to get "+X,+X" results then the Item Durability is now OVER full. [You are watching the "Round Numbers" right?] Let's say ya get on a roll and the first 5 Rounds after beginning are all "+10,+50." The Item's Durability is now 4 Full Bars PLUS 50. You can now withstand five "-10" rounds or one "-50" round and still be at 4 Full Bars Durability.
Personally I use Durability Buffs until the Item is Shaped, then switch to Progress Buffs if in a rush. If Durability falls to about half of that 4th bar then I'll switch back to Durability.
Pristine items are s'posed to always give ya the best XP. Haven't seen any hard numbers on it anywhere, but s'posedly Pristine Items will give better XP then Regular, Shaped or Crude. This might be the biggest complaint so far about Society Tasks and Trade Writs... they asked for shaped and do not result in Max XP for the Items made. Again, all this XP stuff is just what I've read/heard.
Edit- Found the Buffs listed. Tell Murt to try: Indurate Increase Durability by small amount, Lower Power by small amount.
Vitrify Increases durability by a small amount, Lowers progress by a medium amount

That's pretty much what I figured but then couldn't understand why they say it's better not to get a pristine on your first try... :::shrugs::: I can't be doing too bad being 20% from lvl 33 but it's good to know I'm still learning All of the xp info is what you have heard, but it's better than having nothing to go off of lol
"Round numbers"? What the heck is that? LOL.. All I do is look at my bars as I buff and throw in counters when I see them.. I really don't pay to much attention to the numbers that come up over my head. Looking at the bars is far more easier than figuring out numbers (never was good at math.. lol)
Murt doesn't have those ones, as I read your pm I logged him in and looked... As a lvl 28 weaponsmith he doesn't have one but then again that would be tier 3 right?
