Here's mine: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Character History
Augustus of KORT
The son of Augustus Lloderon IV and Tesserine of Wissonia, Augustus' earliest memories are of an idyllic and wonderful land. He was given the name of his father in the confidence that he would someday take charge of the household and surrounding lands. His father's spacious stone castle lay along the southern coast of the island kingdom of H'Orleon Minor. The castle stood atop gray stone cliffs, the base of which met the waves of the blue expanse of the sea. A labyrynth of caves led from the water's edge upwards through the cliffs and to the cellars of the castle. In the hot summer months Auggie would often descend the passage and sit upon the rocky beach, gazing across the sea and wondering what adventures must lie beyond the horizon.
Augustus' youth was afforded the finest of all things. Born of a wealthy and well-respected family, his tutelage was the best available in the land. He was quick to learn the written word and held a special affinity for tales of fantastic and far-reaching adventures. Proficient in the sport of combat and the hunt, and yet not overly zealous in this pursuit, he often would prefer long quiet outings with his closest of friends. Starting out early in the morning as the dawn broke, they would travel until midday, and oftentimes, as the others grew foot-weary, Auggie would set out upon his own. Many times choosing to encamp in a remote section of forest and not return until the next morning - a cause for much consternation and annoyance among the family and house-servants.
In Augustus' seventeenth year, a visitor came to castle Lloderon. A small craft was spied by the watchman as it drifted aimlessly into the rocky harbor. Augustus awoke to the ringing of the dockmaster's bell and quickly dressed to see who this unexpected visitor might be. Arriving at the docks Auggie finds that the drifting boat is being towed to shore by the dockmaster and his crew in their rowing boat. As they approch the dock they call out to him "Summon aid..!! 'Tis a maiden direly wounded and nigh upon death.."
The young lady, was unconscious and limp as she was pulled from the battered craft. Her fair complexion and noble features suggested she was of a civilized land, and the embroidery upon her garmets, although stained and torn, seemed to be that of a royal line. She was rushed to a chamber and attended by Father Carson, the village priest. Several days passed and each morning Augustus would stop by her chamber with hot tea to see if its aroma would awaken her. On the fourth day, as Augustus entered the chamber, the maiden's eyes moved beneath her lids... and then stirred away as he held the steaming cup close to her face.
