Here is Squire Briteblade's quest that I had given him, which was give a knight an ale quest.
I received my missive from the council while in the city of North Qeynos. After reading the directions provided, I immediately set out to purchase the items required. I was to provide a flagon of ale to half the knights in KoRT.
I assumed the task to be straight forward and stopped in at the local tavern to obtain the refreshment only to discover it was not to be had in the city. I then ran from pillar to post searching and to no avail.
It appears this drink is rare in the extreme in the Qeynos area. I finally turned to the library at the mage tower and was happily able to discover that a family home brewery in the Starcrest community produced the required libation. I went there immediately only to be told that the brew was not quite ready but if I would deliver a letter to the mistress’s sister in Nettleville Hovel it would be ready upon my return.
I went straight away to deliver the letter, and as promised the brew was ready upon my return, the owner pressed upon me 5 flagons at no charge for being kind enough to deliver the letter. I began my search in for Knights of KoRT in Thundering Steppes, several of them had been known to be ridding the area of miscreants. Luck was with me, I met Sir Liteheart traveling in search of the local ship’s docks, he had recently been involved with clearing an area of giants and was traveling to the piers to retrieve an object.
We met and I offered him a flagon of ale for which he was very grateful, fighting and traveling left little time for amenities. He then asked me if perchance I knew the location of the docks in the area. I was passing familiar with the area and offered to show him to the area he required. So we traveled together, passing tales and news back and forth till we reached the asked for destination. We wished each other well, and he thanked me again for my gift and we parted company.
I next caught up with Sir Vinmana as he was just completing a hard day at the forge. We met as he disembarked from a long flight to the Steppes station. When we met I offered him an Ale for which he was truly grateful, “Smithing is hot thirsty work” he exclaimed. He then invited me to accompany him as he worked to complete the quest for the Fabled Polished Granite Tomahawk. I eagerly accepted his invitation, working alongside a Knight gives me the chance to learn knightly ways. We were involved in several good fights, with Skindancer Gnolls, and Giants that we managed to overcome. When we parted ways Sir Vinmana only lacked the final battle with the dreaded Octogorgon to complete his quest.
The following day I was able to attend the most renowned knight of the realm, Sir Murtano. He had come to assist Sir Vinmana with his battle with Octogorgon. He asked that I join him to receive training in the fine art of combat with a strong adversary. When he arrived I immediately offered him strong ale to fortify him for the upcoming fight. I am pleased to report he praised me for my forethought, and drank deeply. We then proceeded to strike the evil Octogorgon low.
The following day I was surprised and happy to finish my first task set for me, I chanced upon Lady Abrianna as she went about he busy schedule laboring at her manifold skills, I asked her if she would mind stepping away from her labors and meet me outside of her present location. The proprietors of the establishment where she plies her skills be notoriously watchful of non-members entering. When she stepped outside to the fresh air you could see it was a welcomed break and more-so when I explained my mission and offered her an ale. As always she was much appreciative of anything done for her. I thanked her and promised to deliver more harvest items as soon as I could.
I then moved through the community at large and to my great luck came upon Sir Paddi as he to was working at his skill and trade. I have learned as a young knight that man does not live on danger and adventure alone and alas few of us have patrons to support us. I hailed him and explained my quest and he was more than happy to help me out and excepted the ale I offered. I talked to him about which skill I might find beneficial and that would best benefit KoRT. He offered me sound advice and I thanked him greatly and proceeded to Strider’s Inn to post the tale of my travels.
