I walk alone in the Neverwinter Garden As a new sun rises in the crystal sky The birth of day, so quite and peaceful The flame has been lost and I'm not sure why
Its frightening how it can all fade away So slowly and subtle that you hardly know Looking at me, what could you say? Except "I love you"...before the tears came
I've walked many roads to today And missed some that I wish to have taken But my heart is strong and hope survives These have yet to be forsaken
The flowers here have such a gentle beauty Strange, I've never really noticed before But the roses wilted for you and me No water, or care could bring the color back
The argentine scale has finally tipped And collapsed under the weight of our sadness Solitude prevails now without regard For the pain we have or what we miss
In the garden of truth, it becomes clear As I stand on the edge of this lost love Revealed to me is the sorrow of blinded men Who doubt...what they are sure of.

Hail brothers, I have been away for a time to think the past few weeks out, due to my sponsor's absence I consider it my duty to counsel myself on what I need to work on. I really hate being jumped, and I'm afraid that when I do get jumped I'm apt to say just that. But now, I say this:
Of the greatest woes, that an adventurer knows In the Realms that are forgotten Are the unseen blows, that an evil sows In a manner most truly rotten
In certain places, and certain cases This thing you will befall In masked faces, with flails and maces They are looking for a braul
On the unsuspecting, and neighbor respecting They are ready to attack With mercy rejecting, and suprize expecting They appear upon your back
The adventurer turns, and his stomach churns, With rage for this wronging For this the evil yurns, and his very heart burns For your death his is longing
If you choose to whine, you have not the spine To go in areas such as these The evils give no sign, which by me is just fine As is that they never say please
Tis an unhealthy test, for you did not know to rest And the evil is ready and prepared You've not cast blest, these strolls are not your best Saying such might help, if he cared
An unfortunate thing, this unprovoked bashing But truly think not it bad Experience it will bring, and of revenge you may sing But at the time, you may be mad
Do not down lay, in a peaceful way You must express your last right It is not to die, with just a sigh But it is to fight the fight
Evils can only take, things that men did make And the greatest things they cannot touch Tis honor you uphold, with fire, magic and cold For to die with honor gives pain not much
Truly the lesson here, is one I consider dear To be strong and your fear tame You may die without fear, and never shed a tear For death with honor brings no shame
Think me not liking this, truly it is a deadly kiss Concede not to death, untill your last breath Fight with your wits, and slay the evil twits To be jumped can be sweet, if it's you left on your feet There is still luck to be had, to bless the deserted and sad So give the hold a try, and with it time try to by I may be jumped, but never shall I be stumped As to the action I must take,...
Kill who I can and fight like a man To spit in the eye of death As well as I can, is my plan
DarkWolfMM Squire to Sir Flame
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Not sure if DarkwolfMM ever made knight, but he was one heck of a poet when it came to being jumped. I think he wrote this after an episode where the cadded (ctl-alt-del) out of a fight where he got jumped. In other words, he bailed out of a critical fight with fellow korters.
Knowing this poem was a bit of a penance brought special meaning to me. I really detest jumpers!
These poems warm my heart. Simple, honest, poetry can often speak volumes. I am gladdened that they give you some distraction in this time of deep concern.
As we begin a new year, I offer this humble verse...
True Knights
We strive under a banner of honor Crafted of threads from our lives Through the darkness and blazing fire The determination still survives
We've conquered enemies and felt the glory Embracing the hopes that strong hearts know Shared our friendships and trained our squires Planted the seeds and watched them grow
Now the long road stretches before us Calling us to a new horizon Sharpen the swords, polish the armor The adventure has just begun!
A salute to all my brothers and sisters of KORT. May ye always find victory, in every quest and journey!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
